K. Ernest writes science fiction and fantasy where every character has a voice, a purpose, and a life beyond the page. Her work explores themes of legacy, survival, morality, and the impossible choices people make when every option comes at a cost. She believes the most interesting stories don’t simply ask whether a character will survive but rather what it will cost them.

Growing up, K.’s family never stayed in one place for long. Experiencing different communities, cultures, and world perspectives allowed K. to develop a lifelong curiosity about morality, religion, and the ways people view the world. Those experiences continue to influence the themes behind her writing today.

She later studied mechanical engineering at Montana State University where she also became the president of the Creative Writing Club. Science, mathematics, and problem-solving strengthened her love of building believable worlds grounded in logic. Rather than viewing science and fantasy as opposites, she enjoys weaving them together to create settings that feel both creative and plausible. 

When she’s not writing, she spends her time reading, snowboarding, or working on whatever craft currently has a hold on her interest. She currently lives in Bozeman, Montana, but considers her time living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, as the most influential experience in shaping both who she is and the stories she hopes to tell.
